The Ridgeway
Brief
The Ridgeway project focused on replacing an aging conservatory that obstructed the natural flow and visual connection between the family home and its mature garden. The existing structure suffered from insufficient natural light, which underscored the need to create an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area.
Response
Following the demolition of the conservatory, a new infill structure was constructed, featuring a contemporary material palette of vertical timber cladding, white render, and an eye-catching anthracite aluminium canopy. This canopy was designed to reduce solar gain during the summer while providing shelter from the rain.
The new design enhances the daily experience of the kitchen by seamlessly connecting it with the newly created living and dining spaces, both of which are bathed in natural light and offer expansive views of the garden.
We entered into a Design & Build situation with Coleman Anderson, and they were always on hand to advise when we stumbled upon issues on site. The drawings they provided were clear and detailed meaning we could complete the build on time, and on budget
