Gable End Cottages
Brief
The Royal Oak Hotel was also home to two dilapidated semi-detached houses at the rear of the site, as an annexe to the main hotel. Although these were a more recent addition to the grade II listed hotel, their condition had also badly degraded, and the internal layouts were cramped and not fit for purpose. The Coleman Anderson team were appointed to transform these houses into two modern family homes, with the intention of them being sold as luxury homes to the local real estate market.
Response
Coleman Anderson provided a holistic architectural and interiors service, focusing on a high-end finishes specification including shaker-style kitchens, classic brass ironmongery and finishes throughout, and sleek, contemporary bathrooms. The layouts were improved to increase the visual connection to the generous gardens, and create open-plan living spaces tailored to modern family life.
