ECOHOME

ECOHOME

Brief

The site was subject to stringent planning constraints due to its location within the Metropolitan Green Belt and an Area of Archaeological Potential. The brief required the demolition of the existing bungalow and the development of a contemporary, environmentally sustainable replacement dwelling.

Response

We successfully secured planning permission for a significantly larger replacement dwelling by leveraging our comprehensive understanding of local planning regulations and Green Belt policies. Multiple applications, including Permitted Development extensions to the existing , culminated in a ‘trade-off’ proposal for a substantially larger replacement dwelling.

The design focused on creating an Eco Home with sustainability at its core. The new dwelling integrates environmentally friendly materials, incorporates timber detailing, and employs advanced sustainable technologies. Its strategic positioning enhances its off-grid capabilities, ensuring minimal environmental impact while harmonizing with its sensitive context.

The house is so full of natural light, it’s well insulated and has triple glazing so it stays warm in the winter and cool in the summer. It’s especially beneficial at the moment with ever-increasing energy costs!
